2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Cairns Blue
Performance Air Filter

We are now sourcing 'free flow' performance air filters for the RRSport. These filters are a direct replacement for the existing paper element within the airbox and will increase power output by 6 bhp on a standard vehicle.

The retail price will be around £75.00 but we should be able to supply them for around £60.00 subject to demand to forum members.

Could members please pm me so I can get together the quantity required Wink

As far as I know it is a 'standard' airbox on either petrol or diesel models but we have developed it on the TDV6.....I wouldnt drive anything else...unless of course soomeone wanted to pay my petrol bill for me Wink

I believe it will fit all RR Sport models

Has the new air filter been tried or tested on a petrol version , more importantly, a Supercharged?

Dealer reports car 'seems' more responsive and it 'sounds' better.....We will try and get it rolling roadtested and I would expect 6-8bhp gain Wink

Well i can only guess and say it should make a better noise (if thats possible) don't SC's make a sublime noise anyway?
Maybe even a couple of BHP difference as it would be breathing better.

Turbochip is this a DIY fit, or specialist? i am not exactly that handy when it comes to mechanics, Tunit box addition/removal is as far as i would go really.

Keep us informed, will definitely be interested in this item.

If there are marked sound benefits, I'd def be interested. Some before/after sound clips would be ideal (if someone is in a position to be able to create them?).

MDP,

The performance filter will benefit any RR Sport......would you like to evaluate one for me? If you PM me I can arrange to send you one and you can post your experiences 'good or bad' on the forum.

Kam,

It is a simple 'self fit' and a direct replacement for the existing paper filter element in the air box.

Turbochip,

I'll happily evaluate your product so long as there are no consequences or ramifications with regards to the manufactuers warranty etc. I'm sure with an air filter there would not be, it's such a minor point to change.

MDP, sorry for jumping in, if you're interested in doing it first as an evaluator, please go ahead....(my mother taught me amnners cost nothing you see! Smile )

Perhaps Turbochip would like a couple of evaluators in order to get a more rounded and accurate appraisal..... Cool L319 D4 HSE

No problems RRUK, you go ahead and get the filter..try it out & let us all know how it performs, how easy it is to fit , cost , noise levels, etc etc etc

If we get round to this mini meet in B'ham ( and youve got the filter by then ) we could hear the difference then?

Cheers MDP

That's very gracious of you, but only if you are 100% sure it's ok. I don't want to be known as a 'testing a nice air filter stealer!"

Let's see what Turbochip says about it, afterall, I doubt the wife will let me spend ANY money on an add on like an air filter after having spent so much on the car.... Crying or Very sad L319 D4 HSE
