That's a tough one... back in 2009 I was looking at a Cayenne S and a BMW X5. I had gotten rid of my 08 RRS HSE (wife's ride) about 6 months prior to this. I ultimately went with the X5 - better overall value and performance is almost identical. I think there are two big strikes against the Cayenne:

Appreciate all of you Gentlemen comments, Yes, you are absolutely right Mr. Johnny on your observation but am hopping for more horror stories fm existing owners to slap the living daylights out of me so that i'll be convinced enough as my 2nd hand car trades friends/ wife & extended family have been advicing me against getting the RRSC as residuals are horrendous at best (50% off at 2 years over MSRP MIN & have to nearly beg prospective buyers to get it off my hands) when comparing to a Cayanne (25-30% off MSRP). Seperately, i'll hate to be very close & personal with my main agent service staffs to the point of even knowing what they do for relaxation & so forth (believe you get my drift ) then there's this small inconvenient truth that i do not have oil fields nor huge chuncks of lands that are heavily forested so that i could cut trees to subsidised or enrich my agent with super regular visits.
Exactly my same sentiments!
Actually this is where i beg to differ, the 2011 Cayanne IS bigger/more spacious inside-especially the rear & the material are pretty sturdy/rock solid, then again the 2011 RRSC isn't exactly shabby but am wondering how long it'll last plus buying british is a very emotional experience. It's every inch desirable & may i say it's perveresly 'sexy' somewhat? But am kinda worried if something f*%#@ up when am far fm home (singapore) as i intend to drive to Malaysia & Thailand for holidays which it'll be a disaster if something mucks up mid way. |

Phew Glad to know that there are RRS out there which don't leave their owner cursing & swearing As for residuals, am afraid that Sgp isn't as lucky as GB |

Honestly? I prefer the RRS over Cayanne anytime of the day but it's the realiblity that am very concern as both cars cost SGD$400 Grand a pop! Not to mention that servicing cost & parts pricing is verging daylight Robbery as it's unbelievably expensive. The front suspension arm knocking sound is a good example as so many Brits here are facing problems as their respective main dealers are also in the dark as to what causes it then compare to the Sgp main agent who just took over the dealership barely 1 year ago- not very confidence infusing right? Was trawling all the RR forums fm the 26th May, 27th Fri was reading everything that my brain can process into the wee hours of the morning of 28th May (530am). Can safely say that this RRSC is the only vehicle that I've been diligently researching for I hate to flush good hard earn money down the toilet & heartache/ headache as a norm for RRSC ownership. Am actually blessed with the opportunity to have owned quite a few cars (it's more than what's listed) but those that have been listed have been modded to the max by me & boy, there's problem everywhere & mine field- now it's been modded fm stock hence I can accept problems but not when it's stock. Imagine driving in some deserted stretch of roads & u're car breaks down on you, this is South East Asia Gentlemen- one can be easily robbed/ wife raped & so forth hence a car that is more of less bomb proof is essential or make that paramount. Read fm another forum that a guy chose to go the Beemer route since he can't afford to have his 2 young daughter stranded in deep snow when reliability are at best for the RR. |

Porsche are just as bad! My friend would tell you some stories of her (2) 911's and Cayenne! Never again was her comment RRS issues are not really that much of a problem. As for the price - Range Rovers are expensive...end of - eyes wide open thats the cost afford and enjoy or dont buy and buy something cheaper...maybe a discovery? or a BMW or Porsche.
