The Rear windows/windscreen can be as dark as you like.

I'll get shot down for this but my opinion is get Pentagon autotints [google them all over the country] to tint the windows in a light smoke. Anything darker is a no no makes the look like a commercial vehicle.

If you have limo tint on the rears it can make reversing a bit tricky..... |

I had after market tints on my last car, I wouldn't get them again, it was pitch black in the back!! As previously said, go for a more subtle tint in the back. On the other hand, The factory ones you wouldn't know they had been done, nice and light in there!

unless you have the rear reversing camera ![]() I'd also agree on the dark aftermarket kits making the rear of the car gloomy. I also had an issue with the dealer arranging the aftermarket kit and only findng out in the winter that a couple of elements in the rear window demist were not operating. Although vehicle was under full LR warranty, LR would not entertain a warranty claim with an aftermarket tint fitted. |

The law for expats here in UAE is we can only have tinted glass upto 30% but at least we can have every windows done on the car. I have a 3M 30% tint that also have UV blocker to reduce heat build up.

I had my D3 tinted with limo tints, was very dark inside. But rear passengers loved it as no one could see them in the back and it kept the car quite cool in the summer.

I can understand the 'Privacy Glass' for VIP's etc who don't want photographers and so forth shooting cameras in their face....but why do people have privacy glass in the back of the car when they are the person driving in the front with no tint what so ever?

I had full privacy glass due to the fact I carry a lot of expensive photography kit in the back, often can't get it all in the boot and I don't want some pond life scumbag pile of monkey vomit seeing it and breaking in to pinch it. |
