It is the tax payer who is basically paying for this( as always) basically your electricity costs 8p a unit, but the government has struck a deal that the elec co pays YOU 24p a unit, with them getting a bung from the tax payer! , I have heard that that figure will come down once the money runs out! Funny how most of the companies doing it have previouslly been involved in selling double glazing/kitchens/etc, so you can see how reliable they will be!! There is no such thing as green energy , I just wish the government would wake up and stop chucking our money at stuff like this, now dont get me started on wind farms!!!! I had a similar issue with a burglar alarm system, the previous occupant had one fitted on the back of an annual service contract which they tried to hold me to,told them to come and take it out, never heard from them again. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

Thanks for the heads up Envoy. Yes my company does install Solar PV and is one of the largest in the South West. Obviously I cant mention the name on here (advertising rules) but if you would like to PM me I will happily pass you the details. Alternatively you can call me on 01752 426208 and ask for Nigel. At the present time it is a win win situation. The returns ARE substantial - in the region of 14% pa with payback periods down to about 7 to 8 years. The payments are guaranteed for 25 years, are linked to RPI and fully transferable. With regards to companies not being around in 5 years it is worth looking for one who offers an independent warranty guarantee as part of the package. This protects all warranties independently. Be careful with the free roof systems as they are not be suitable for everyone.
