So much of what you say is so true.

It really is a British thing though. A few years ago when I was on holiday, I got talking to another Brit and a Yank in my friends bar. The talk got around to cars (I had the Maserati at the time) and when they found out the comments said it all.

The young American was, "like wow man, one day I hope to get some sort of job that will let me buy one of those".

The Brit was, " F***** T***, who did you rip off to get that"?

That says it all really, oh and the day after my comment above, some a***hole smacked my door with their food trolley and left a nice six inch scratch down the drivers door!

what occurs to me are couple of thoughts
1- an armed society is a polite society (and a scary one I bet)
2- what would good old UK be like with more armed scum than currently
3- would we be better off... as joe public would be armed as well as the criminal scum so able to defend ourselves our families and our property

So the latest is that after a fingertip inspection they managed to get paint stripper (we think) onto 2 doors, the front wing and bonnet. The car is going in to the body shop next week to be made good again.

I've tried really hard to work out why anyone would do this sort of thing. While its all obviously TOTALLY unacceptable, I can kind of see why a moron would get a kick from tagging something with graffiti, or how an inconsiderate slob could whack the door when they get out of their 20 year old banger. But I really don't get the point of sheer mindless vandalism. It's also gut wrenching to know that even if they are caught, all they'll get is a slapped wrist.

The only upside is that I'll have the pleasure of sharing pics of the shiny new paintwork with you lot in a couple of weeks time!!
