Just spent over 6 hours in Bank holiday traffic travelling from Cornwall, and noticed a Warning flash up on the dash saying (Engine System Fault) and a symbol of a manual with an (i) Also noticed the car is not as responsive as it should be. Has anyone got any ideas of what this could be as looked in the owners manuel and doesn't give any information regarding this. BLACK RRS HST 3.6 MY08

It probably means a trip to your local dealer is imminent,

I will be calling the dealers 1st thing tommorrow , just so glad now I took out an extended Warranty last month otherwise I would be off with myself. I am just wondering any chance it could be the EGR valves? BLACK RRS HST 3.6 MY08

Normally a reboot of the car resolves, probably just an electrical gremlin. Unless it stays put, I would not worry about it.

Mine did this numerous times and the first few times I panicked and called the Service Manager on his personal hotline (it was a weekend), did the turn off, leave for 15 mins, restart the first time and voila, gone. Second time, I switched off and back on and it once again vanished. Just had a call from Stratones as I left my RRS with them to sort the problem out, and have been told that the fault codes show that there is a problem with the Rear Differential to make things worse they said that they have not come accross this fault before on an RRS so have sent the report to LR head office to get some advice as they dont want to change parts just for the sake of it! Has anyone had or heard of this problem before on this site? As I am not a mechanical person i asked what the diffential did and was informed that it distributes equal torque to the wheels for those of you that also didnt know. BLACK RRS HST 3.6 MY08

Yes, I had a rear diff problem on my 2008. Dealer didn't know what to do. Ended up getting another RRS instead of messing around with changing diffs.

Finally after my RRS has spent 7 days with Stratsones I collected it with the power problem solved! the fault was the (Power Flow Meter) on the right hand side of the engine, Not the Rear Diff as was earlier diagnosed in the week I cant believe they they have had the car a whole week for a 2 hour job, what annoys me is i have had to hire a car to get me around and at the moment I have had to fork out for the bill. I took out an extended warranty in march, which is Stratsones own through a company called Abraxas which I was advised to do by their warranty sales manager as it was £100 cheaper than the LR warranty but everything was the same other than the maximum single claim can not exceed £6000 so i took his advice. The repair work is covered under the warranty but as the labour was under 8 hours i dont quallify for a hire vehicle. The manager of strastones is supposed to be calling me back on Monday to discuss this issue but as I said to the guy who gave me back the keys its not my problem you were unable to diagnose the problem and you should be liable for the hire car. Can someone tell me if I had purchased a LR warranty would i have been given a hire vehicle regardless of labour time? BLACK RRS HST 3.6 MY08
