Did the problem in this thread ever get resolved??????

I have just purchased a sport with the exact same problem. Judging by the photo's in this thread my load cover can't be a freelander one as its not that short.

Perhaps you could just pop into your local LR dealer and see if your load cover fits OK in another Sport to check if that is OK first? MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

Yeah i've got to take a trip to the dealer soon anyway but looking at the first pics of the one in the thread showing how short it is, that is exactly like mine looks, they then comfirmed that theye'd tried his in some other rrs's at the dealers and it fitted fine, and then went on to maybe his side trims had move appart a little causing this problem, but then the thread ends and they never got to the bottom of the problem.

No it didn't.

I took it to LPR and they had a quick look and tried a new cover but the same. Wanted me to book it in to be looked at but I didn't take it in as I'll look my self when I get time rather than getting an almighty bill. They reckoned it was somthing to do with the side panels maybe being removed before.

Funny how there has been a few people with the same problem tho Exclamation

Right! I got home from work today and spent some time in my boot. There is no way my trims either side have moved, if you was to pull the in to accomodate the length of the load cover there would be a gap between the windows and the trim and you would never fold the seats down.

it really is a mystery!

Definately strange. Do you have a dog guard fitted?

nope! And its never had one fitted previously either. I have even taken the actual load cover to bits to see if something may of happened to make it shorter but there's no way that can happen either as there is no way anything can move as the pole inside determins the length and the end caps actually screw into the ends of the pole that the load cover is wound onto.

I wonder if they are different in a later model.
Maybe they have been fitted with later model covers? Maybe James from LPR could check the part numbers on the system and see if there is different ones.

Big DJ,

Got your PM and have responded. In essence the cover is the same part now as it was at launch, therefore ruling out a change to the dimensions of the blind.

As said before, we're happy to have a look for you.

James Thumbs Up

Just an update on this problem.

I went to my local lookers today in bishops stortford to ask about this load cover problem. The first fella i spoke to had nevar heard of it but went to get someone from the workshop to have a look and he said they had had a customer in with the same complaint and the way they rectified it was to fit two new left and right boot trims. He then went on to say that some how the trims must come of the production line slightly under sized, hence causing this problem. Surely if this is the case its down to land rover to rectify this problem but nooooo, he said it cost the customer close to £400 to solve this Shocked Shocked Shocked
