Engine bogged down

Hi guys,

I picked my RRS TDV6 a while now, got loads done to it- sorry haven't been active here been busy with my hobby car.

Anyway its lovely and all, but the other day out of nowhere the car would refuse to pick up, its not until it hits 3k that the turbo kicks in. I haven't any warnings come up.

I have to wait till 3k to get power, can you imagine how agonising that is Laughing

Does this sound like the infamous EGR or wastegate actuator? I will get any codes read stored but not sure there will be any as no warnings came up.

Thanks in advance- a few pics....

Only thing is reading through previous topics on loss of power no one mentions delay is till 3k, its either limp mode or delay of a few seconds.

Sounds exactly the same as the problem I had, turned out to be an egr valve.

Thanks for the reassurance its not something to devastating to my bank account lol.

Another thing i noticed after cleaning the maf to see if that was causing it was, on very slight throttle i'm not hearing a sort of grating sound from the engine but as soon as I give it a tiny more throttle the normal engine tone resumes. Is this EGR?

I'll order the blanking plate.

What model year? Blanking doesn't work on 07MY and onwards. Sad

Ok well my brother decided to buy two new egr valves while I was at work- wtf Shocked £340

Does anyone know of a guide to remove the valve itself, as the blanking guide doesn't cover that. Access seems limited to the mounting bolts.

Thinking to return the valves and buy the blanks anyway, its only going to go again- loads of city commutes Rolling Eyes

Ps.. have searched no end but couldn't find a guide....must be one covering the valve somewhere?
