Air suspension - a new trait is it normal?

From time to time my lovely RRS gasps when I exit and lock up - just like the air brakes on a lorry. Followed by a slow decent to the entry/exit mode. Is this normal I wonder. does not happen evry time.... just now and again.

Rather like a tired dog after a long hard run lol..........................

Apparently (on my model anyway) its the self leveling suspension settling, I asked the LRE guy a few "silly" questions, this being one and he demostrated it Mike

When you say normal is yours broken also?

I can't see why your car would lower itself if you have not changed the height. It just sounds like something is leaking?

Mine levels itself automatically from time to time. If you watch it you notice that it is only ever the front or rear that moves. Makes sure that the car is level and is a design feature Thumbs Up

Apparently if you travel on a ferry you should drop it access height otherwise it will try to level on the journey!! and then in doing so flatten the battery Shocked Mike

Mine does it too, seems to be perfectly normal - its not loud, about the same volume as the dogs, my other half says 'he is barking at us' every time it does it...yes, she thinks the car is a Dog. She has even named it Rupert....worryingly, I now call it Rupert. Im worried for myself. -[RRS 4.4 v8 HSE ]-

Malaysia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Chawton White

Yes, it is levelling, albeit only downwards! Wink

Your RRS has this "Periodic Re-levelling" feature:

When the vehicle is parked, the air suspension control module 'wakes up' two hours after the ignition was last switched off and then once every six hours. The vehicle height is checked and if the vehicle is not level within a pre-set tolerance, small downwards height adjustments may be made automatically. Malaysia Boleh!
