iPhoto 11 - anyone use it?

Having just moved from PC to MAC, I'm trying to find the best way to organise photos in iPhoto11.
On the pc, I was quite good, and had them in a nice folder structure with yearmonthdate-event title.

How do you organise your photos in iphoto? what about misc events, random shots etc? thanks

I just let iPhoto manage everything for me. Import photos to the iPhoto library and then the viewer arranges by date, event etcetera. All photos end up in a cabinet file called iPhoto library, but if you command click on that you can navigate inside it easily enough. The only complication comes when you start using something like photoshop or aperture but even then it's nothing too arduous - just let the computer organize it for you and get on with more important things than worrying about file structures Very Happy Whistle

Hi zb

iPhoto will automatically assign a date to your import and will further split them to the dates the photo was taken. You can either leave the dates or assign names to these 'events'. You can then create albums from single or multiple events. You can rename individual photos if you like etc etc. Really easy and quite powerful to use
