Windcsreen wiper problem - help!

Hi All, I am new to this forum and new to Range Rover in general. I just bought a 2011 RRS and having driven 800 blissful miles have just encountered my first problem! The windscreen wiper on the drivers side appears to have jammed and now doesnt move at all. Have followed instruction manual and turned off engine to retsart etc but no joy. Called the dealer and they advised me to call out LR Assistance. Does anybody know is this a quick fix and something that can be cured at the roadside or will the car need to go into the dealer to fix it?
Thanks.

Just call LR assistance, they will be with you within the hour Smile

If its a computer problem the guy will just reset the ECU and it will be sorted, failing that he can tow you to your nearest dealer who will HAVE to sort it asap Thumbs Up

You could always try resetting the ECU yourself, but as its new and under warranty I wouldn't risk it and why should you at the end of the day!

wiper problems

I had that - the right one needless to say, and in rain whilst in hurray (radio/tv interviews)believe it or not..

It is dead simple, and took about 30 seconds at dealership. - Give it a bang with a hammer, at centre and on top of central side blade. Or use a solid screwdriver - it is all in the wrist action.

But a bang is more satisfying..

Thanks to everyone who replied. So I called LR Assistance, the guy turns up and tells me he has had a few 2011 cars with the same problem. Basically the cars left the factory with the bolt not tightened enough! Fixes it in 2 seconds and apologises on behalf of LR saying its very embarrasing. WOW - you spend all this money on a brand new car (which I am generally very impressed with) and they make such a simple error. Oh well, at least it was nothing serious!
