Sliding Load Floor

The Landrover web site gives fitting instructions for the Sliding Load Floor, but I cannot find any mention of one in the accessories list. Has anyone tried such a thing, and if so are they any good and can they be ordered.

I might just be the first Tim but old age and worn out joints (mine not the RRS') means any help loading and unloading the boot is very welcome.

Not sure what you meant by Crow........... though.

ops sorry - added an extra W.
My brother in law has a similar system on his 3 series Touring and likes it for just the reason you give especially as he carries quite large boxes in the back. One problem he has though is it only covers the area up to the seats, when you have the seats folded in estate mode the system isn't that great and it takes up "height" in the boot as it sits on top of the boot floor - in RRS could make getting to the spare wheel winch difficult if you needed it 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Looking at the assembly instructions I think the loading tray just lifts out, leaving just the side runners in place. So it should leave fairly wide space with no loss of height and access to the spare wheel winch. Of course having a puncture when fully loaded would be a real pain.

Wil have to check if they are available and what price they are.

Thanks for the info Tim.

I tried to get one of these too. As the boot on the RRS just seems too big to reach to the back especially if youre wearing a dress, not very lady like to just up and climb in to the boot...
Unfortunately it seems that this is an accessory only available a few years ago or you still can get them in the US Sad If anybody knows any different would be good to hear too! Smile

They are definately still available for the Disco but I think it's a different size.

Searching on the RRS part number (VTO500020PVJ) the only one that comes up at a supplier is here:-

Probably worth giving them a call to see if they actually have it in stock. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

After searching the Landrover web site I found it listed for the Disco MY10 and earlier as Endjin said. Not sure I would be interested at over £740 even if it did fit though, comparing it's limited usefulness to me against the cost.

been away so only just saw your posts.

I have had the sliding load floor fitted to my 07 RRS then to the 08 RRS and it is now doing service in my my10 disco4. Wouldn't be without it. Main purpose here in Aus is to carry the camping fridge. It is much easier to access the top mount fridge lid when the whole lot is pulled back beyond the tailgate. The change needed to convert to use in the disco required moving the slide mounts about 50mm further forward so an adapter was made which also raised the slide about 50mm.....which matches the high position of the folded rear seats (a disco feature) and results in a level floor. The 100mm space under the slide is now ocupied by specially made aluminium drawers to hold recovery gear and other essentials.....including 12 wine bottles if necessary.

To answer your specific question/s, the slide is easily removed with a bit of manhandling to give access to spare etc. The rails remain in place. however with only 4 bolts to remove it is a simple exercise to restore the original floor. The quality and finish of the slide is quite good and can carry a decent load. Hence the asking price is high. However, with duty in 3 cars to date, with more expected (when the 4.4 is offered in the RRS), IMHO I find it very useful. Mine was sourced via the dealer network in Aus from the factory in 07 although I have no knowledge of current availability.

hope this helps................frank my10D4se3Ltdv6 current

rrsboy,

have tried to upload 2 photos and can only achieve semi-success with 1. Currently it is contained in the general gallery dated 14.4.11. Cannot transfer it to this post nor will the other photo (of similar size) upload. You will need to view the photo in the general gallery, unless someone can guide me through a more successful upload procedure.

Note the RH drawer contains the recovery gear, the LH drawer contains the handwinch and cable etc, and, if all else fails, the centre drawer contains the wine bottles. The drawers simply slide on the carpet, and the fridge tethers to the slide with the straps shown.
