common problem,if you take out the number pate lights you will see they are covered in mud/dirt.i took mine back to the dealers as i had a 12month warranty, they just replaced the unit.you could try squirting it with some wd40 using the straw type attachment

Did you double press open button when you opened car?
As it always opened the top half? may need programming to open it again which is in the handbook
Mine actually failed required a new locking mechanism
Hope this helps

It took 5 minutes to find the problem, 5 mins to find and order the switch for £12 on eBay, it was here two days later and then 5 minutes to fit it. 2005 (55) RRS 4.2 V8 S/C Buckingham Blue

May sound silly, but I was having trouble opening my rear tailgate glass hatch. I could'nt work out why it opened on a couple of occasions, but all of a suuden it seem to stop altogether and I could'nt get it to open? Then purely by accident I discovered that I needed to press the key fob twice to unlock both the driver and paasenger doors and then the rear glass opens every time by pressing the rubber switch under the glass I had previousley only been opening the drivers door by pressing once on the key fob and the rear glass would not open? Press twice on th key fob and hey presto! Incidently, I had the same problem on a RRS prior to owning this one? On that occasion I foolishly took it to the dealers who charged £157 to replace a switch and catch stating that this was the problem? I am pretty sure that it was just a simple case of pressing the unlock button on the key fob twice to solve the problem

Mine was definitely the switch corroded without a doubt. Easy fix either way. 2005 (55) RRS 4.2 V8 S/C Buckingham Blue
