If you want to visit the barrier reef, then Whitsundays is good place to start, however don't go to Hayman as VA says, hire my holiday house for the week and help donations to the RRSPORT forum Do one of the Reef Pontoons, you can even do a reef sleep, check out Cruise Whitsundays or Fantasea

I really can't recommend the Sydney Intercontinental *Club* rooms enough. They have the only outdoor rooftop lounge bar in the Sydney CBD that I'm aware of - which looks over the whole harbour out to the heads.

You'll need to pre-book the bridge climb (online)

Ok so currently in Sydney. Loving it. At the shangri-la.....only disappointment is pool is indoor and it is predominantly a business hotel.

The jet boat rides out of the harbour are good, prepare to get wet, upset the misses & see the harbour from a different angle.
