Land Rover Select Warranty 75k miles over

Hi All Very Happy

I have recently purchased a 57 reg RRS TDV8 with 79k miles.

Having scoured the net every single day for over month trying to find a mix of the right engine, colour, mileage and spec I ended up finding the absolute perfect car with just one compromise.. it had higher mileage than I really wanted and was just over 3 years old.

I viewed the car and test drove it and everything felt right (especially after seeing some awful cars previously at certain dealers in essex). This one was immaculate, had one previous owner who'd added nearly every optional extra from new and it had a full LR history with 5 stamps, the last service being done just before I bought it. So I went for it!

Anyway, I have been offered a LR warranty for about £600 but it's called a select warranty as the car has over 75k miles.

I have searched the forum but cannot find information on this particular warranty. Does anyone have this warranty, and can anyone comment on it please. Also any opinions on other worthy warranties would be welcomed. I have spoken to Kam who was really really helpful but because my car has just last week gone over 80k miles now I can only get a silver warranty through him which is less cover than i'd want really.

Confused Part of me thinks maybe I should pocket the £600 and keep my fingers crossed, especially as locally I have 2 LR specialists to choose from should the worst happen.

Your thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Karl

Hi and well done on your new purchase - pictures please!

Don't know what the LR Warranty covers but worth Googling Warranty Direct? Good products that include cover for MOT and Service point failures as well as wear & tear parts.

I bought a 5 year old Supercharged 3 months ago, couple of smallish problems (one there when I purchased but didn't spot, other came up later) cost me more than £600 at the LR Dealer to rectify (SRS Fault Light on on dash, PDC Sounder Fault).

That included Diags x 2, Parts, Labour & VAT but with hindsight a warranty would have paid for itself in no time!

the select warranty is described on this page.

http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/fe...hicPromo_3

confusingly it's on a page for approved used vehicles even though the select warranty is for cars that fall outwith the approved used scheme.

go figure. Shocked
