2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

Strange alarm chirp on MY10 RRS and D4

Every few hours - say 4 or 5 hours - my 2010 RRS TDV8's alarm makes an odd single whistle. It sounds like this but not exactly. I don't know why it does it but I have a friend whose MY10 D4 does the same.

Does anyone else have the same issue and does anyone know the cause?

my money is on a small cooling fan in an ECU housing starting when car's waking up.
