Australia 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Chawton White

Thanks Hydronic,

So would suggest we are trying for the weekend of 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st Feb 2011...

Any objections to that?

Did we agree on the Yarra Valley as our general destination? If so, here is a link to the wineries in that area:

We are v.keen to hook up for some fun and would love to tackle some semi-serious of-road stuff as well as some top drops.

Feb/March would be great timing for us as kids will be back in the regular school routine by then.

Car has just had a meltdown but should be back on the road by then Big Cry

New control arms and a new park brake required and I've completely destroyed the steering rack.

Feel free to confirm your interest by clicking the correct button above Jimmy! Thumbs Up

Should we dare ask what caused the RRS to meltdown? Big Cry

Dates will be the key for us.

That and getting our rig back on the road.

Currently up for:
New Control Arms
Steering Rack and pump

Am hoping that the extended warranty covers it or it will be a very sad xmas. Steering rack looks like costing over $4k to replace.

Am considering adding 10% cement mix to all fuel from now on in a bid to get the car to harden the F&$k up. 'Black Betty' Java Black RRS 07 TDV6

JS, Control arms are a regular occurrence every 70-80K or so, i had the two lower control arm bushes changed at 80 thou and the upper ones on the one i just traded are worn and have to be replaced at the next service, i was quoted about 800 for each Control arm fitted by a specialist in Brookvale

Cheers

Is that considered normal wear & tear or should that be claimable under warranty? 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey with Alpaca premium leather, Adaptive cruise, Adaptive Bi-xenons, sunroof, Premium Nav, Premium ICE Logic 7, telephone, active locking rear diff, console coolbox, seat memory, powerfold mirrors, tow pack, window tint, dual battery, engel fridge, Goodyear Mud-Terrain tyres.

When i did my lower control arm bushes Allianz did them under a failure condition, whereas i reckon they have so many claims since that a friend with a D3 was turned down as they then decided it was wear and tear. After much haggling they agreed 50/50.

If it is still in Land Rover warranty i would get them to change them if they look worn

Yes it is still in Land Rover warranty and I've done close to 70,000 kms so I'm guessing they will be coming up to worn out time. I'll ask them at the next service. 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey with Alpaca premium leather, Adaptive cruise, Adaptive Bi-xenons, sunroof, Premium Nav, Premium ICE Logic 7, telephone, active locking rear diff, console coolbox, seat memory, powerfold mirrors, tow pack, window tint, dual battery, engel fridge, Goodyear Mud-Terrain tyres.

In a bid to keep us (meaning me) from straying too far off topic (again) I'll post details of the repair saga elsewhere. 'Black Betty' Java Black RRS 07 TDV6

Hey there 2nd

Thanks for the PM a few weeks back.

There was a question about everyone being happy about the dates of the mini meet and the start date of the 18th.

Before I go calling to booking our accommodation, are we now confirmed that these are the dates?? Just a white TDV8 with a few extras

HI WD,

I expected a few questions and some dialogue from the PM to those whe were interested, but only have one reply, this confirmed Hydronic is happy with the dates. No others.

So until there's more positive replies to the PM, or to this thread then I'd suggest you not book anything yet!

Cheers
