glow plugs

Can the glow plugs be replaced by most competent garages or are you required to visit a land rover dealership? This cold snap has brought about a few lumpy starts on my tdv6 and I am considering replacing them but don't fancy dealership prices.... All advice welcome. Thank you.[/code]

Make sure it is not your battery having a lower voltage than usual causing the lumpy running, as the loading on the alternator can cause this, (ie, if it is the original battery it may well need replacing, or at least charging). I wouldn't advise touching the glow plugs unless you are absolutely certain one or more are faulty, and have the facilities and expertise to remove the remnants when they snap off Whistle RRS TDV8 Buck Blue (no, not now in my dreams). ..........D3 TDclankety clankV6 ............BMW 318i
