I have just looked at update on winter tyres from James @ LPR

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic19985.html?highlight=

LR recommend - Continental 275/40R20 Cross Contact Winter 106 V Shocked

Duuuuhhhhh isn't V less than Y or even W Whistle

Does this mean we are expected to have 2 sets of tyres - one for summer and one for winter Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Look on your drivers door plaque

The plaque on the drivers door notes that the tyres must be rated at 950kg or load index of 106 and a speed rating of at least H - from memory H is 210 kph. Whereas V is 240, W 270 and Y is 300 kph. So LRs own recommendation on the car is H.

I used Armstrong Massey for 10 years but I fell out with them in June. I had a clutch problem on my FL1 while under warranty and AM could not find anything wrong but shortly after the master cylinder went but they would not help because the warranty had expired Big Cry

I went to Stratstone and they suggested LR might offer a goodwill payment but AM never told me this was possible Rolling Eyes

I also had problem with AM when I booked in Feb for warranty work but had to wait until March for courtesy car - when I dropped off car they said warranty had expired and I had to pay for work - even though booked in Feb while under warranty Shocked

It was a computer error but I had to go home to get log book to prove warranty until May and rebook appointment - no apology and if I had not proved it they would have charged me Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Just had a call from a very nice chap at LR customer service who informs me that it was the dealer that had notified them that i had incorrect tyres fitted and as they where not the ones that it left the factory with they would not do the work Shocked

I explained in a very nice way to the chap that i had a world reputable brand fitted and this was the tyre reccomended to me by a national leading tyre installer and that none of it made sense, he also admitted that it did not make sense but it would need to be looked at by another department and they would respond in writing within 72 hours, so AM have lied to me when i collected the car - great customer service.

On the basis of the above do not fit any kind of tyre unless you have checked with land rover first to see if it is approved. Does anybody have the Land Rover approved tyre list

Thanks but this just says that if you do not fit the same as what came out of the factory it MAY effect the handling, not it will effect your warranty.
