Land Rover doing Bullbars?

http://rangeroverclub.org.au/node/1064

follow the link and you'll see the new Disco 4 'bull bar' in the last photo...including PDC!?!?

Does anyone know if this is a functioning bullbar, or just some bling chrome item?

what is a "functioning" bull bar? do you mean that it can take some weight/force?

I think these are illegal in UK...

Yep, that's it... i.e. that it can provide a modocum of protection in impact with Tree or wildlife such as Wombat or Kangaroo... At least enough protection so you're car isn't a write off in the middle of the bush and you can get home!

Alas, I contacted ECB and they aren't doing anything for the Sport.

Damn shame as I'd like somone to do a decent bul bar (perhaps not as brutal looking as the new D4 one). 2014 SDV6 HSE, Panoramic Roof, 825w sound, Surround Cameras

It has been a while.

Still have the TDV8, still loving it and still nothing has gone wrong with it.

Have also been promising to visit Ivery - just never enough time in the schedule. Embarassed

Logged in to the site have a look around, as the better half swore blind that she saw a car with Range Rover badges on Friday doing the rounds on our now deserted country roads. The only thing was that it wasn't like a RR that she had seen before. Her words were that it had a shorter wheel base and "funny" back window, but definitely had Range Rover badges. Just a white TDV8 with a few extras

Group order for an ARB bar.

Have been speaking with a mate who is also a LR nut who happens to work for ARB. He has a few contacts within ARB and mentioned that he had been discussing bull bars for RRS with the development team at ARB head office last week.

It was suggested that we pool together and try and generate some firm numbers for sport owners who'd like a bar.

it would likely be a modified version of the D3 bar ARB do.

It then becomes a numbers game for ARB as to cost to get the ADR tick of approval VS how many bars they can sell.

They would also like a few owners to volunteer their car for the development.

it's a very loose idea at the moment but I'd like to follow it up.

Can I get an idea of who is genuinely keen to have an Australian compliant bull bar developed. 'Black Betty' Java Black RRS 07 TDV6

Hi Jimmy, I had just about given up on ARB or anyone making a decent bull bar for the RRS.

I have previously posted on a thread of a modified ARB D3 bar on an RRS.

http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/viewtopic...mp;start=0

I had hoped the new ARB D4 bar would be a better fit as it also has a dropped centre grille similar to the RRS.

Unfortunately the only photo I have seen of the new D4 bar looks likely that the grill drops down behind the top of the bumper part of the bar & the grille is very close to the back of the uprights which also taper towards the grille.

I am very interested in an ARB bar for the RRS if they can address the poor clearance of the bar from the grille.

I am located in Adelaide and would be willing to assist ARB with fitment/development if they could do it here.

Hopefully we could get enough people together for a group buy Thumbs Up

Hi Jimmy,

I'd be interested in an ARB bar but with three main conditions:

1 - it doesn't require extensive modifications to existing panels/components so that it can easily be returned to standard when I come to sell it;
2 - it is fully airbag compliant; and
3 - it doesn't interfere with parking sensors or ACC.

Cheers,

Hi Jimmy,

I would definately want one, similar conditions to some of the others:
1 - it doesn't require extensive modifications to existing panels/components so that it can easily be returned to standard when I come to sell it
2 - it is fully airbag compliant

I think what ARB should do is develop a 'Sahara' Winch Bar.
That would do what it needed to do, and maintain the look of the vehicle.
They'd sell bucket-loads!

I'm based in Melbourne - and would be happy to have my car used for development.

Let's get them to do it!! Thumbs Up 2015 SDV8 HSE in Corris Grey with contrasting black panoramic roof and chunky Cooper Tyres.
