cleaning aluminium side steps

i've tried all sorts of spirits to get the road dirt and tar off of my side steps Big Cry any good idea's??

I've heard people using very fine grade wire wool, i've used it on the bike exhaust and it was fine but never tried it on the RRS!! If it aint broke leave it!

I use Solvol Autosol on mine.

Tar and glue remover wasnt man enough.

got to agree with big mart on this one,,,solvol autosol every time.it's even good on the stainless exhaust tips Thumbs Up

andy. Gone,,TDV8 arctic frost,black leather,colour coded handles,rear entertainment,sunroof.
1980 Rolls Royce,shadow 2 in white.
Gone 07/57 TDV8 santorino,black leather.chrome handle's/mirror's.

Use Autoglym chrome cleaner on mine (recomended by JKP on D3 site) - brought them up like new again Very Happy
