Got nexons on the front and hankooks on the rears at the moment for £250 all in. No signs of wear. Done 7000miles so far. Happy! 2014 RRS

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

i will print a copy of that bobby and keep it in my glovebox for when the rozzers pull me over!! , so it looks like as the treads on the side are only half depth it should still be legal when they disapear, BUT totally useless at dispersing water, at 6000miles on mine i have already had the front slide on a roundabout at about 15 miles an hour in the wet!!!!
cheers

I think these 20" rims with low profile tyres are for looks only. They are useless in the wet. Mad
I've changed to Pirellis and even with new tyres, you can feel the 'hydroplaning' when you go over wet roads! Laughing Malaysia Boleh!

This pretty much sums up dealer response Rolling Eyes

So why does it only affect conti's if it's not a fault Whistle

A friend had a VW R32 with a "characteristic" and after 2 years battling VW they settled out of court week before trial but of course it was a goodwill payment - not an admission.... £45K payout... not bad for goodwill Rolling Eyes

Also at weekend we had a bit of rain and hitting puddles on the near side nearly ended up off-road... literally Shocked

Never had this problem with previous LR's Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

My Contis have 9k on them and I have just had them switched front to rear and balanced and aligned as they were worn on the edges on the front.
I will switch to another make when they are due to be changed. CURRENT: 3.0TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey, Privacy Glass, Rear DVDs, Extended Leather

I suppose that if you are buying a new RRSport then you can always spec it WITHOUT Continentals, most car makers don't fit only a single tyre makers tyres to their cars and I am sure that if enough people requested no Contis then LR would end up with a huge pile of them and might take the problem more seriously. You can do this as I know from experience as I requested years ago when buying a V8 Disco that it didn't have Pirelli's on it and it came at no extra cost on what I reckon where the most fantastic 100% road biased tyres tyres I have ever had on a car - Avon Turbospeeds.
The BF Goodrich AT's that my Defender came shod with ran to 62000 miles before I replaced them with a set of MTR's - and even at that milage I was able to sell them on to a guy who never took his Defender offroad so lack of grip in the mud wasn't a problem for him! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

So how does rapid worn edges of continental tyres offer any of these to RRS owners Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
