Respray or not respray?

Have a modified RRS in Java Black and thinking of having it resprayed Zermatt Silver. Could anybody advise me if this is a wise thing to do and the potential or average cost of doing so.

Thanks Smile

Go for a wrap if you want to change colour, I'm sure nowadays you'll get what ever colour you want

It should be fairly expensive as all the jams will have to be painted. Everything comes off to do correctly.
Repaints always affect resale value as well. mike murphy

Sell Black one ...... Buy Silver one!
Surely it's got to be cheaper to do this than
to pay for a complete respray? Shocked 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Respraying will look like accident repair to future buyer and put them off/knock down price - I would not go there. Shocked Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Respraying Silver over Black will be very difficult to achieve anyway - it will require a good few coats to stop the black from making the silver appear darker than it should be - the person to ask is Sportman out in UAE - he repsrayed his Buckingham Blue Supercharged to Zermatt when he also added the HST bodykit 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

If you really want another colour and don't want to have the expense of swapping to a newer model in the right colour, wrapping is your best option IMO

You can then either sell it on with the wrap, with people worrying about paint condition below, or have it removed and sell it as seen in it's factory finish

thanks for the comments folks, constructive or otherwise Thumbs Up

I think i'll refrain from a respray as evidently, it would cost me more than just the respray.
