You will need :

1. 4 Initiators, one connected to each wheel arch. Each initiator has a connector which connects with the body harness.

2. 4 Tyre Pressure Sensors, each mounted in each wheel. The sensors will measure the pressure and temperature of the air inside the tyre and the measurements will be transmitted to the RF Receiver in the vehicle.

3. A TPMS Switch has to be added on in the centre console switch pack. You use this switch to set the pressures.

4. A TPMS Module, which will be located above the headliner of the vehicle. This module will monitor and detect all tyre pressures and also communicate with the vehicle instrument cluster to provide the driver with appropriate warnings that show the importance of the condition detected and indicate the status/failure of TPMS components.

5. Lastly, you will need to install/connect 2 warning indicators in the instrument cluster. One is for warnings conveyed by an amber LED warning indicator and another is a text message displayed in the message centre. The warning indicator and message centre are driven by CAN messages from the TPMS module.

You will of course need the proper connectors and wiring for the above and also set up the vehicle.

For my sins i have a twin axle caravan still dont know if the outlay is justified enough, if a blow out occurs i will still have three wheels to bring it to a stop safely and the shredded tyre will have already caused the damage by then. Haven't had any problems up to now keep a close eye on pressures with a manual guage, think i'll see what the reviews are like. Now gone Orkney grey SDV6 HSE with body style kit contrast stitch ebony leather, privacy, black piano, 22" Lowenharts for summer, 20" with Leon LTZ for winter.

That were I have the worries Sad

Single axle and I have had a blow out, and I had also checked all my pressures due to length of journey

I just can't find anything reliable and with good reviews, and I would mind one that measures the temp also as ATS thought it might have been heat related

I've got over 3500 miles to put in over 3 weeks in france doing some reading into blowouts the temp normally increases with a low pressure tyre if this happens over a slow period of time ie slow puncture then i'm sure a pressure monitor with an alarm system if they have them? would give plenty of warning, unless something has lodged between wheel and axle to cause heat build up then nothing is going to stop it unless you see smoke and manage to pull over in time. I'm sure there must be something on the market it's all about cost at the end of the day i suppose. Thumbs Up Now gone Orkney grey SDV6 HSE with body style kit contrast stitch ebony leather, privacy, black piano, 22" Lowenharts for summer, 20" with Leon LTZ for winter.

The TPMS has four initiators. Each initiator has a connector which connects with the body harness.

The initiators are located near the front of the front wheel arches and near the rear of the rear wheel arches and are secured with two scrivets.
