Not much to it to be fair, I just replaced mine in less than an hour.
It's on the left hand side (drivers side on US car), just in front of the rear wheel beside the chassis rail.
It's covered by a black plastic shell which is in two parts, the bottom half is secured to the car by 3 x 10mm bolts which are all easy to get to.
Remove those three bolts then split the bottom half of the shell from the top half by releasing 5 clips with your fingers. Remove the bottom half of the shell.
Then manoeuvre the top half of the shell out by twisting and pulling towards the back of the car.
The pump is bolted to a mounting bracket and the mounting bracket is bolted to the car, again 3 x 10mm bolts.
There are 2 main airlines connected to the compressor at the rear and 1 small "blue" line at the front. Each of the 3 lines are push-fit, no tools required, you will see a small "collar" where each line connects to the pump, push the collar in and pull the lines straight out. (I was advised to spray mine with WD40 the day before so I did, they came out no problem)
You can also now release the two electrical connectors at the front end of the pump from the wiring harness, again no tools required.
You WILL need a 1/4" 10mm socket, 6" extension and smallish ratchet to remove the pump and bracket from the car, one bolt at the bottom is easy, the other at the bottom requires the extension and the one at the top also requires the extension.
When you have the whole assembly of the car there are 3 mounting points (bushings) that hold the pump to the bracket, each can be undone with a 1/4 ratchet and small hex adapter.
Fit the new pump to the bracket.
When you have the new pump on the bracket I'm told that you need to snug-up the top bolt (hardest to get to) before you tighten up the bottom two. Be careful not to trap any electrical or airline parts behind the mounting bracket as you tighten it up.
When you have all 3 tightened you can push the air-lines into the collars, from memory they push in at least 1 inch.
At this point you might be advised to test the pump, I'm told that the computer needs to be reset. That's the stage I'm at now.....
Once done, manoeuvre the top half of the shell back over the pump and make sure it's in place, push the bottom half back on and set the plastics clips. Bolt the shell back up to the car with the 3 x 10mm bolts and have a beer.
