I think the very early ones did - but do not now - IIRC to prevent seizing on if left stood for time. i.e. before you couldn't not engage it - now you can.... |

It's been interesting seeing the subtle carry-overs between the Jaguars and the RRS - neither my old 05HSE nor my new 10 HSE have the auto park brake application, but my wife's XF and the previous S type both did... |

As my drive here is quite level I didn't always use the handbrake but most mornings when I came out to it the handbrake was on. Didn't think much else other than I'd put it on and forgotten I'd done it! Perhaps it does or rather did still go on after a while on the MY09s! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

This feature is not available in the earlier models. Silly question really, but, to test the feature, did you switch off your engine while the vehicle is moving, albeit at below 2 mph?
