Actually I quite liked Bali Blue, well on the LR site anyway, then I went to see one at the dealer and it wasn't what I thought.

Bali looked great in the showroom, under the lights, deep sparkley metallic blue, got it home and the family fell about |

I would guess that I will come up against the same problem, however happy to look at it. We are actually backing away from leasing companies to a certain extent as we do not have the stock to justify the discounts that they ask for. If you email me the quotation and spec to jamestayler@lookers.co.uk then I will discuss it with my Business Manager. We would be putting it through Land Rover Contract Hire which is Lex as you know. I am off site tomorrow (Wed), but if you would like a quicker answer then email matthewgurney@lookers.co.uk. Regards, James ![]() |

Thanks James, Lex can't touch this quote unfortunately, it's why the guy at Harwoods had the Lex rep down for an explanation as to why they are providing better quotes to buinsesses than they are to dealers. |

I tried three dealers in the end, they all came back and said exactly the same, which is what I'd guess you'd say also. That it's not a deal they can match. There are some very good offers around mostly from brokers or similar. The obvious downside of these deals are you don't get dealer facilites, i.e no test drives, no advice or viewings to choose any options. Unless of course you mess the dealer about by going through all this before producing the paperwork.....I run a business and that really bugs me when people do that so i tend to just provide the paperwork up front before I waste their time. It's surprising how helpful some are despite knowing they won't get a sale, hoping they'll maybe pick up servicing. Others are just so rude it's astonishing they're in business. James you certainly come across as the helpful type, taking time to post on this forum with little upside is good marketing in it's own way. The guy at Harwoods Coulsdon was very helpful, even when it became apparent they wouldn't be supplying. It doesn't go unnoticed. |

I don't really consider test drives to be messing the dealer about, even if you don't actually intend buying from them. At the end of the day, whilst they are franchised, they are still Land Rover's 'official' presence for us buyers so I think they have responsibilities to Land Rover as well as the franchise itself. And I think those responsibilities extend to things like test drives and providing advice, even if the dealer isn't going to benefit from a sale. After all, it's not as if there is an alternative for getting a test drive. Besides, if the dealer is helpful they may well secure the future servicing of your new vehicle.

It's worked brilliantly for us, the bag's been used in both our cars over the years, 4x4's and saloon cars. It just fits on the back seat of SWMBO's A4 Cab as well, I even managed to get it in my old E46 M3 coupe several times. The dog's actually happier in the bag than behind the dog guard, she'll often sit in the bag when it's just in the garage. BTW, saw 2 RRS's today in the colour you're buying, both of them on AK10 plates which I think may be LR cars. Have to say, in the sunshine they looked ![]() |
