Is It Worth It

Hi,

I contract hire my vehicles through my company and am looking at a RR sport, we have had a FFRR supercharged in 2006 and loved it then went to a C63 AMG, which I loved wife not so keen, and a licence killer!!

Wife really wants a FFRR again but the contract hire prices seem to be nowhere near as competitive as before, so its out of the loop.

I could have a new style BMW X5 with more Tech ie HUD, speed limit display, Top down view cameras, panoramic roof and be £250.00pm better off than if I went for a non optioned Sport HSE.

We both prefer the looks of the sport and driving it was very comfortable and the V6 has plenty of power, the new X5 isn't on the road yet so have not been able to drive that, but it has not got the character of the Sport looks wise.

Some of the guys on here I see have owned both so would you have the Sport and pay the extra or go for the X5, which seems more advanced on paper but is not so desirable??

Thanks for your views

imho you can't compare the X5 to the RRS by any means - price, spec, performance is all different in varying ways. The way I see it - you only live once so get both at some point and have the best of both worlds - of course try the RRS first Thumbs Up

I'm surprised you see such a price difference. Yes there are some good lease prices advertised for the X5 but that is the basic spec car. When I compared them by the time I had bought the X5 up to the same spec the price was very similar. Don't forget the RRS HSE comes with 20" wheels, metallic paint, leather, air suspension, bluetooth/SatNav/DAB/HK Sound System/ipod connection, keyless entry, Electric heated memory seats, Electric steering wheel adjustment, parking sensors and rear camera all of which I believe are options on the X5 (or they were last year when I looked). I guess if you are going for a longer term lease the options won't make such as difference but on the 2 year lease I looked at adding those options made the X5 lease price rocket.

The are some fantastic lease deals available on the C63 now! I've seen them advertised for £499/month on 6+23. WINNER - 2009 ‘Just Doing What It’s Designed To Do’ Award
