United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
Three week blog

I joined the forum after ordering a MY2010 which I took delivery of a few weeks ago. I got it from the 'notorious' dealership.

So far am happy with the vehicle. It is miles better than the beamer I part exed.

I felt the dealership lived upto its standards, with no receptionist on site, one or two salespersons and having to wait for a while before being attended to. There was no "recognition" of the fact they are selling a 50K vehicle or the ambience to go with it. There was no showmanship with champagne, chocolate or flowers for the mrs at delivery. Infact the tank had only 20 quid worth fuel, in keeping with their policy (a really cheap one). Perhaps I should be thankful for them not messing up the order totally.

As far as the car goes there are a few niggles. The main one is waiting for the day it is not going to start !

TFT display - I know it has been done to death. But definitely needs a firmware update. It would be great if it could show Radio/Mp3 info, phone call information etc

Bluetooth - Always find it difficult to receive a call. the buttons refuse to repond. Sometimes the call goes to the handset and I need to manually transfer it.

Parking distance control - could be better like the Jag with better graphics rather than just sound. Still not been able to turn on the front PDC when not in reverse.

Otherwise the car has been good. It definitely has street cred.

Overall pleased. Perhaps should have gone to Lookers for a more wholesome experience

Have to agree with everthing you say...Absolutely no feel good factor on delivery, I remember when I bought the S8 there were flowers, Thorntons deluxe chocolates and an Audi jacket of my choice... I was also introduced to the senior RS technician appointed to look after my car!!! I remember driving from the garage with a huge grin on my face and feeling like a bit of a superstar Very Happy ......Anyway so far so good with the RRS and if that means less visits to the dealership then thats just fine and the quicker I will get over the poor hand over ceremony Crying or Very sad

Glad it has been a case of so far so good! What model BM did you trade in against it?

I am currently driving an E92 330d remapped and I am going to take a 24hour test of the new MY2010 RRS to male sure that it's the vehicle for me, although i'm 99% sure it is anyway!

But I get what you mean... When I bought my 35k BM I was made feel class... So far with a 50k RRS it's been quite indifferent.

I jumped from a 3 month old 650 Convertible - took some getting used to - but now I feels it's the best car I have ever had!

Very weird.....not sure I liked it first, but after a month I was in love. Like the leisurely pace of it, as opposed to the 650 which I had to drive fast all the time

I know exactly what you mean...I had the same feeling in the S8 always driving on the edge..one eye on the road the other in the mirror just never wanted anyone to pass me. In the end always felt knackered after a long journey Laughing

I'm in the same boat as well coming from an M5, and previously an RS6 Avant, so quite looking forward to just cruising along. (sorry about the continuing fred drift...)

My dealership experience has been top notch, but then I did follow the forum advice thankfully. This time tomorrow I will probably be driving around randomly somewhere after picking mine up tomorrow arvo. Smile
