I have just been speaking to my guy at the dealership and he holds his hands up and said that he assumed it did have one and that he didn't look to check. He said that they will fit one for me at a cost of £200 which is less than half price, i could have got all arsey with him but i thought he has been very good all the way through the purchase, 200% more helpful then my other local Landrover dealer. He did suggest that they would have taken the whole thing on the chin, but i did get them to fit 4 new tyres, all new discs and pads, new spec ball joints to the front of the car, oh and referb all four wheels...hehe so i guess i have had an alright deal really.

The sad thing is i will have to be without the car for 2 hours Big Cry

whilst on the phone to him i got a quote of £1100 to fully colour code all the placy bits. That is to have them all removed and done properly, not a masking tape job. Any thoughts on this price? what have other people paid to have theirs done (and i mean the proper way by removing the parts to paint)?

Thanks for all the help regarding the cool box, hope fully one day i will be able to come up with a pearly gem or two to help out a fellow forum member Whistle

2 hours????

Looking at the fitting instructions I would have said 30 mins for a dealer. They now exactly how to remove the panels etc.

Yes they are available to buy, from what i can gather they are £3xx odd for the unit then they allow two hours to fit it in at Landrover dealers.

well before the V8 power plant, i built a supercharged 3.5 straight 6 which was in it for about 6 months that was dynoed at 325bhp. that was fun but the engine was slightly too heavy and too far over the front wheels.
so now its gone in to have a 4.4 v8 on GSXR 1000 throttle bodies. should be close to the 450bhp (i hope)
and thats in a car which weights slightly over a ton. = very very fun and challenging

i have tones of pics of the engine as i was building it, and the supercharger somewhere Wink 06 RRS TDV6 HSE Stornoway grey with entertainment package 22" overfinch wheels brembo brakes, Remap, plus lots more

Tweaky you should still be asking why he blatantly lied to you about it "coming on with the A/C", personally I wouldn't pay a penny for it!

He told you an out and out lie and "holding his hands up" doesn't cover it for me.....your choice though.

On the colour coding I paid £1175 for front and rear bumper, sides, handles etc.

Hmmm... I think a lie is when somebody deliberately tells you something he knows to be wrong. I don't think negligently telling somebody something that's incorrect constitutes a lie, especially if it's done in good faith.

I would say approaching this as an honest mistake (even if it shouldn't have been made in the first place) is going to be a bit more constructive than getting the dealer on the defensive straight away by calling him a liar! Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.8::MG Montego Turbo::MGB GT::Rover Sterling::MGF::MG ZT 190+

He held his hands up to not knowing if there was a coolbox......but he lied saying it came on with the A/C when he was questioned where the switch was........

That seems a bit of an odd thing to lie about! Get wrong, yes, but lie about it? Confused Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.8::MG Montego Turbo::MGB GT::Rover Sterling::MGF::MG ZT 190+
