Photos of the wheels with and without the protectors up on the previous page!'Thumbs Up' .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

Finally installed

Great Job Rad and great Pics as well. Thumbs Up

I would have posted two days ago but being quite new took me ages to upload the pics.

Here are my thoughts re: Alloygator.

Ordered online and very quick delivery. The package arrived with 4 hard plastic rings in it. I went for silver colour for my alloys.

One Alloygator straight out of packaging.

I decided to try doing this myself as the video on the website was quite user friendly.....

Tools used: Garden secateurs, Stanley knife, Flat blade scredriver, Rubber Millet, and a Pencil.

First I deflated one tyre and using the valve as a starting point started inserting the alloygator. As mentioned by the manufacturer it was quite easy to do and snapped in place quite well.

Starting point above.

Half way

Finishing was quite easy as well as I used a pencil to mark the overlap point and cut it using a garden secateurs. The fit was quite accurate and as Rad says a gap probably wouldn't look too bad.

Finishing Point.

I just did one wheel and went to tyre place and got them to do the rest.

My thoughts:

Looks like a good product but even if you have a ramp and proper tools to take the wheels off, re-inflate them and put them back on, it is a pig of a job. The whole job took over 2 and a half hours to do at the shop. There is always one wheel nut that won't come off easy...etc etc. Evil or Very Mad I am glad I didn't do it myself.

The wheel did need balancing after putting the alloygator on in my case as we checked the balancing both before and after, though not by much.

The shop was also worried that because of the alloygator it seemed that the tyre side wall did not seem to sit properly on the alloy. This however may be an optical illusion of the alloygator.....

Does it look nice on the car---not sure yet, but here are the pictures so you decide.

Hope it helps you make up your mind. Thumbs Up Never argue with an idiot as he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

I was thinking of going for black ( I am not sure I like the silver in flybouy's pics).

Might it be possible to take some pics of your black ones from a similar angle to those shown by flybouy?

Thanks

I thought that... are the silver pics of the completed job? If so, wtf is that all about? Confused

The black ones don't seem to proud, although granted not taken from the same angle...
