Ive had exactly the same problem with mine. I wiped them, washed them the lot to make sure they werent frozen etc and they still kept beeping. Dealer couldnt find a fault with them even though it did it in the forecourt and I went and got them out while it was doing it. Now its stopped and hasnt done it for weeks. 1 of those LR "features" I doubt..... Big Cry Big Cry Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

to test pdc sensors switch ignition on, engine off, select reverse gear if you then put your ear to sensors in turn you should hear a faint but audible clicking. if the light inside flashes there is a fault with the system either a sensor or wiring damage.

Had nothing but grief with my parking sensors. First time it went in it needed a new sensor, a month later it needed a new wiring harness front and rear as it has chaffed some and shorted. Total spent so far £260! I hope thats the last of it.

Hi all. I'm having a complete mare with mine too. They are totally clean and I'm sure one of the sensors are faulty. Does anyone know if I can buy a single sensor and fit it myself? I think i may know which ones gone because it's got a slight indentation on it. Would that cause the front not work either?

Thanks
ben

"If a parking aid system fault has occurred, the parking aid module will relay the occurrence of the fault to the driver in the following ways:
The (switch) status LED will flash at a frequency of 2Hz if the system is active and fault is detected in the sensors, sounders, related wiring or the module.
The front sounder will emit an error tone for 3 seconds at a frequency of 1500Hz if a fault is detected with the front sensors or the rear sounder develops a fault.
The rear sounder will emit an error tone for 3 seconds at a frequency of 1500Hz if a fault is detected with the rear sensors, the switch, the LED in the switch or if there is a CAN bus error."

Front and rear sensors are the same - pt no is YDB500301PMA - about £37each

I gather they all clip into housings which are clipped into the back of the bumpers. To change the rear outers you lower the exhaust sufficiently to get the rear boxes out of the way, for the inners it's a bumper off job. Fronts it's a bumper off job to to change any of them.

well had a look this evening and found that the rear sensor which had a small dent in it is the faulty one (it doesnt click when in reverse) only bad thing is that its second from the end so it looks like im going to have to take the rear bumper off.
ill update once i fit a new one.

Mine seem to play a trick every now and then but it seems to be weather related some how. The more moist/wet outside and cold the more inaccurate they seem.

If the LED on the board is lit with a steady light, what does that mean?
