Gremlins in the dashboard

I've had the car now for 2 months and am loving it...

I've noticed an interesting thing on cold mornings. As the car cabin temperature rises I can hear the dash plastic crackling as it warms up. It is even more significant if the car hasn't been used for a few days.

Has anyone experienced this as I have never heard anything like this on a Mercedes or BMW. Never argue with an idiot as he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

There has been quite a few posts on this; it seems to be a common issue. Try the search facility and hopefully this will point you in the right direction. Thumbs Up FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Thanks I did do a search but nothing came up. Will try again.

Also the trouble with using search all the time is that you always find the answer you are looking for and hence never need to post on the forum....which I think is quite anti social...all IMHO..... Found 2 Links - Creaky Dashboard

I did a lot of searching and finally found a couple of threads that have covered the same problem. It seems Bradders is right....it is a common problem. You almost think the designers did not apply a lot of brain in designing the interior or choosing the materials they were going to use Big Cry

My 5-series BMW does this in really cold weather. Something in the dash cracks as it warms up, and it's common according to the 5-series forums

I used to own a 3 series before going for RR sport and that never creaked.....maybe the more money you spend the more sound effects you get for free. Wink Never argue with an idiot as he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.
