Does anyone know how to turn the LED Running Lights on permanently on the RRS 2010 MY (facelift) without going back to your dealer ?

They have to be turned on via IDS if I'm not mistaken, so whoever does it will need that at least.

and if I remember correctly, the led running lights on the 2010 rrs is the led + the low beam... Think someone on the forum asked his dealer to activate them and he was not happy that it has to been both and not only the led.... Range Rover Vogue ‘17 TDV6

I wonder if having to have both sets on is because the LR LEDs are not bright enough to be daytime running lights but a more a bit of "styling". When you see how bright the daylight running LEDs are on Mercs, Audis, SAABs, Porsches and Vauxhall Insignia the LR version are quite dim and need the dim dip lights to boost them. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Do what I do these days, drive all the time on dipped headlights. It's amazing how much further away you see an oncoming car running on the LED lights that I have decided to drive all the time with my lights on.

I find it particularly annoying that the automatic on system leaves the lights until it is almost dark before they switch on, they should be banned as I see no end of people driving with no lights on well after they should have dipped headlights. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Totally agree Tim, I never use the Auto On feature as I simply don't trust it after several times where the lights
have not come on early enough for the conditions. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Let them delete it for 2011MY but they can replace it with photochromic wing mirrors that dip to green like the rear view mirror! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Isn't it from next year that all new cars in the UK have to have DRLs anyway? Confused

You'd think that LR would have pre-installed this feature given it's only recently come to market, especially as most other marques are coming to the market with them now.

A matter of personal opinion surely? If anything, I usually find that the auto lights come on before I would switch them on and stay on later than I would leave them on. Pesronally I hate day running lights on cars as I feel that they make the roads far LESS SAFE for bikers. I believe the resaon we see bikers with their lights on is because it is unusual to see a vehicle with its lights on in the daytime and once all vehciles have to have lights on all the time they will lose this small advantage.

As for the Land Rover auto system I leave it on all the time and generally find it satisfactory. The one time I had a real issue with it was on a foggy day when it seemed totally unable to decide whether it should turn the lights on or not, turning them on and off repeatedly as I drove along, problem simply solved by a small turn of the switch to put them on permanently.

Have a look at:-

http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic15672.html?highlight=led .

There is absolutely no substitute for a genuine lack of preparation.

TDV8 HSE MY10 with pretty much everything including a vase of daffs on the back shelf, tropical fish collection in the centre console, hamsters in the spare tyre and finally sheep on the passenger seats.....for weight distribution, what else??
