Tim to me the MTR's are NOT tyres for winter but for off-roading. As far as I am aware they are poor in icy conditions.

Whilst the MTRs would probably be better than the normal road tyres I would go Ice & Snow tyres. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Have already been advised by Smarticus that MTR's on snowy and icy roads on the Defender are less than confidence inspiring and brown trouser inducing! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

From my experiendces gathered in the mountainous frozen wasteland that is Holland I'd stick with the wintertyres. RRS TDV8 Alaska White,Remap, JE exhaust,DPF Removed |

Stay with winter tyres if you are only on tarmac. Much safer and definitely more economical. 2009 Range Rover Sport 2.7 TDV6 SE, Alaska White, Almond leather, tinted windows, active rear diff, tow pack, HiICE, full spare: gone and already missed

Tornado, thanks for the offer but I have already got both the Pirelli Scorpions (the car is running on them now) and a set of GY MTR's AND the normal Pirelli Assymetrico 20"'s for the summer............................... along with a set of 5 BFG ATR's and another set of brand new BFG MTR's both sets on alloys for the 90 in the garage. Hope folks don't think I'm developing a wheel and tyre fetish 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
