Clearance on Castrol car oils

Folks,

We've added a Clearance section to our web site where you can buy oils we're over-stocked on or are clearing down.

In the clearance section at the moment, we've a selection of Castrol oils including Castrol Edge and Edge Sport in 1 litres, Castrol Magnatec, Castrol GTX and some Castrol gear oils.

They're all at substantially reduced prices and your 10% club discount applies too.

Take a look at our clearance section here: http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-1089-clearance-car-oils.aspx

Cheers

Okay, here you go

TDV6, needs a Ford 934B oil (5w-30, low SAPS). We don't actually have one at the moment, it's on it's way, but we do have a 934A oil that people have purchased for the TDV6 as 934B is just an updated 934A

TDV8, needs a Ford 913B spec oil and we have plenty of those

The SC needs a 5w-20 oil and we only have one suitable (5w-20 is a rare oil in the UK), but it is a top quality oil

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-1000-redline-h...5w-20.aspx

I believe the SC is a US engine, and many of them are now using 5w-20 oils. Sometimes a 5w-30 will be okay, but a lot of the time people complain that unless they use a 5w-20, the engines feel a bit unresponsive.

Cheers

Tim

United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

The uk manual states:

Diesel Vehicles - Use SAE 5w-30 meeting specification WSS-M2C913-B only.

Petrol Vehicles - WSS-M2C913-B*

*If you are unable to find an oil that meets the specification defined by WSS-M2C913-B, you must use an SAE 5-30 oil meeting specification ACEA:A3/B3.

Land rover recommends Castrol.

Thumbs Up

..........

Oil man what in your opinion would happen if you were to put say shell 10w40 (which afaik only meets the ACEA:A3/B3 standard) into a diesel vehicle requiring the 5w-30 ford 913-b? WINNER - 2008 Best All New Photograph

I doubt anything will happen. 5w-30 is used as a fuel economy grade.

Cheers
