Guys.. SuperT just asked me some very good questions, so thought i would share the info with all of you..

M42 is a crap motorway.. very congested and busy in the mornings, take account of this when planning you're journey if travelling up/down on the day.

Also new SPECS average speed cameras on M42.. with variable speed limit, allegedly went live on 1st April, and they have started using the variable speed limits.. everyone round here are talking about them, saying they are now live, so be warned.. apparently they are hugely sensitive and merciless, catching you 2/3mph above the stated limit..
Not worth the risk, just take you're time up there... Unfortunately there are also a couple of cameras on the A45 towards the landrover near the airport, but these are just conventional yellow speed boxes, so shouldn't catch you out..

Just thought i had better pre warn all of you..
Wouldn't want something silly to ruin our day...or you're memory of it.

If anyone does a 'Kam' and arrives late, we have a small window to wait, but if we aren't there for any reason, ring me on my mobile, will happily fly over and pick u up or guide you in..

From: Heathrow Airport (Terminals 1 2 and 3),Hounslow

To: Birmingham Airport,Birmingham | Reverse this route

Distance: 104.4 miles | View in kilometres

Time: 1 hr 59 min

Thats according to the AA route master thingy..
I would put another 1/2 hour - 45 mins on that though.. morning traffic an all. Reckon you would be ok on exit from london, but you will be entering the horrid M42 at around about peak rush hour.. but hopefully it will be a clear run for you.. even if you're early, you can get a kip on while your waiting. Ill be there at approx 8am..
