Very carefully! You need a powerful hairdryer to heat the glue/ sticky pads and a length of dental floss to run between the tread plate and the bumper to cut through the glue without marking the plastic of the bumper. Heat the tread-plate until it is quite warm and then work the dental floss under an end and then with somebody else aiming the warm air along the treadplate as you ease the floss along the bumper. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

A practical tip after I replaced my badges a couple of weeks ago.

Dental floss either kept breaking for me or cutting into my fingers even through gloves, so I used the plastic pallet banding.

If you get some of the thinner parcel banding (look in any skip at the back of shops or supermarkets etc) and use it to 'saw' through the adhesive with a hairdryer as Tim suggests, it works really well.

You can create enough of an angle away from the body too so that you don't even get any light abrasion marks. Even under super lighting you cannot see a single hairline mark on the paint. Just saw whilst pulling slightly away from the paint.

Hardest part was getting the foam sticky pads underneath off - enjoy the blisters, you'll know what I mean the day after. Rolling with laughter

Blisters came from trying to roll/rub the nasty sticky pads underneath off with your bare finger - but fishing line sounds good for sawing.
