Using 5w/30 in extreme temperatures?

As I prepare to undertake my first full service (long story if you haven't read my various posts why!), I wondered if anyone has any thoughts on using Castrol 5w/30 oil at low temperature?

I have read that 5w/30 is recommended for UK spec RRS's but other country climates may require different?

We experience down to minus 30C in winter (max) to plus 32C in the summer - should I look to change the spec of oil because of this?

Thoughts, experience?
