News to me that they had changed to the AA, but either way what they tell you is correct - they only have to supply you with "a car". Nobody of course, reads the small print (me included) and so gets upset when they can't have a like for like replacement.

It was the AA that came out last night, checked it on the laptop then "recovered it" (he drove it over to T n C and got a lift back for his van) to the dealer. Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

Yep, but the transaction's between you and the dealer then - no meddling third parties involved I think Steuart64 is right - the mfrs pay to have others manage the breakdown and recovery process, but obviously that costs money and as with most companies these days, reduction in costs it high up the list of priorities. With BMW ES, some dealers also choose to host the branded ES 5-Series Tourings that you see about the place. You're lucky if you get those guys, because they actually work for the service depts in the dealerships and work an on-call rota, so you get the same service with them (inc loan cars) as if you'd taken your car in for service (if you get decent service from your dealer, of course). 2009 Outstanding Contribution Award - Joint Runner Up 2009 'Tech-Head Of The Year' Award - Runner Up Like it here? T n C just called. Its not a sensor that's wrong! Its the compressor and they're on back order! She can't tell me when I'll get 1 on the car. Could be next week or a month from now and still no word on a car! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

Mine isn't the only 1 parked at T n C waiting for a compressor though Tim. They've another been sitting a week waiting now! Can't even rent 1 myself from T n C as they've been cleared out too due to the snow today!

End result of all the calls and carry on today is.... I've no car for the weekend and forseeable future but Im on the waiting list for a 4x4 from those wonderful folk at Enterprise cars. So as a result I cant get to a night out tonight, lost a days fishing tomorrow, have to cancel taking Mums car to the garage on Monday (unless a car appears over the weekend) as Ive no transport to take her home after we drop hers off!! Wonder if LR or LRA would pick up taxi fares in lieu of the hire car??

Had this issue with Enterprise the last few times my old RRS was seen to by LRA. Got them sorted the last time as I got them to deliver the Vauxhall Astra to me at one of my work locations and they had problems delivering as it accessed down a lane with filled with potholes and deep pools of water which is why I drive a 4x4. They said they cound't deliver the car so I complained to LR and lo and behold a Disco materialised Long suffering RRS Owner, but I can't help it! |

Best laugh of the day! After being told all day today that Enterprise has NO availability on 4x4s at any location lo and behold I had a look at their website and they have availability on 2 types of 4x4 at their airport location here in Aberdeen!

Once you get your own car back you receive a customer satisfaction survey (at least CHPR and Morrison's Land Rover always send me them) - you get to write what you like about LRA and the service you received at the dealership the car was fixed by. My suspicion is 90% of owners just throw these in the bin........................... and then whinge like f about poor service when they were given the opportunity to comment. I always complete them - there's now reason why you cannot give praise on the form too if it's due. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

LRA was and could be very good again - it is no t LRA who are 'bad' it is the fact the AA now run it and not Mondial |
