I read last year that the AA had taken over from Mondial. I haven't had any new rush of junk mail though. |

I had LRA out last Sunday - Mondial lost contract July ish last year to AA, with my fault the operator decided LR tech was best suited. Before you had 2 options, call LRA and get a tech or lifted / transported. Now you call in and could get AA man, LR tech then lifted so response is not potentially as good. |

RE the junk mail - I assume that LRA passed (sold??) all the details of Land Rover owners to the AA. so they have been checking their databases against LR owners. I am a lapsed AA member as I didn't see the point in having full AA membership as well as the free LRA so stopped AA. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Whatever............. they should not be presenting your card details for subscriptions though, luckily they are out of date, something, no pun intended, smells fishy. |

Lespes, it's all fixed now - got cornered by a salesperson flogging AA cover in the local supermarket and explained the situation - put me onto their mobile phone to call centre and my details are now deleted from the dtatabase. Now to see how long they remain deleted! TalkTalk got an earful from me too last night when some unfortunate Indian person "randomly generated" my ex- directory phone number wouldn't have been so bad for them had they not 1st done a silent call (1 ring of the phone) and then phoned back at 2 this morning! I do wish call centres out on the sub-continent would remember there are 6 hours time difference when they start cold calling!

When I was having all the electrical glitches over xmas and new year I went to T n C and they were too busy! Told me to call LRA who said they couldn't get me an LR tech so offered AA an hour and a half later and then if the AA couldn't sort it they'd arrange it to be recovered and a loan car supplied! Couldn't guarantee a LR product for loan car tho either! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

No really! It was LRA I was more concerned about and the fact that the car had obviously computer glitched that an AA van isn't going to be equipped to deal with I would reckon! That and the length of time waiting for them to arrive! If I'd been a woman with kids would they have had to wait the same time??

I posted about this a few weeks ago but LRA has definately been farmed out to the AA & the service is SH t now. I was told the LR technician in my area was busy so would I accept an AA patrol. I said yes as long as they know what they are doing! I then got a phonecall a while later saying that they couldn't get an AA patrol to me & would I accept a "local agent"? I said yes, It turned out that the guy they sent was someone I know and he actually does all the work on the Royal LR's at Balmoral, so obviously LR keep him sweet, He told me that the reason the AA said that there was no available LR Assist Techie was because they got rid of most of them as soon as they took over the contract - The neares LR trained guy to Aberdeen is now in Bathgate wich is about 2 1/2 hours drive away I have already complained to my dealer about this & would suggest that anyone else who had experienced the "excellent" service these LRA guys provide in the past does the same. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

The other thing i forgot was that according to the LR tech the AA patrols don't have the laptop / understanding / training to plug in and read the codes so what is the point of them turning out
