TDV6 or TDV8

Hi Everyone

Complete newbie here - so 1st post Very Happy

Have an Audi Quattro at the moment but i'm looking to change for a RRS

Question is - TDV6 or TDV8? I'm concerned that the 6 maybe a little underpowered?

My budget is up to about £34k - what models and / or options are desirable or a "must have"

TIA

Jason

Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

You should get at least a 57 plate TDV8 for that sort of money.... much better than a TDV6 in my book. I love my TDV8 and would not swap it for another engine type.

Thanks

Am i right in thinking that the TDV8 offers about the same fuel consumption as the 6 - but is much more lively?

Only car i've seen at the moment is 2007 (07) TDV8

Is this a fair price - or could i get a better car for less?

Also - what options are desirable? One definite is privacy glass and 20" rims.

I think the TDV8 is a little more thirsty but lots more powerful.

Mine is chipped and I get about 25mpg on average driving around town, 30mpg on a run if you dont drive silly.
Non chipped ones are a little better on fuel.

Speak to one of the site sponsors regarding prices.....I know that Kam gets access to lots of deals.

Its worthwhile taking both for a test run to see the differences, remember the TDV8 will be a HSE spec or better so you get loads more toys than the standard TDV6.

Hope this helps

Australia 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

8 all the way. If you are going to test drive them both, make sure you drive the 6 first otherwise you'll get out of the 8 and into the 6 and think that something is broken or wrong with it. They seriously are like chalk & cheese in the way they drive and the 8 is worth the premium if only for the engine sound and the smile it gives you when overtaking anything/everything. 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey with Alpaca premium leather, Adaptive cruise, Adaptive Bi-xenons, sunroof, Premium Nav, Premium ICE Logic 7, telephone, active locking rear diff, console coolbox, seat memory, powerfold mirrors, tow pack, window tint, dual battery, engel fridge, Goodyear Mud-Terrain tyres.

Cheers Guys Thumbs Up

I guess it's a case of keep looking until the right car turns up. Will update in due course.

Incidentally, were the any major issues with the TDV8 i.e recalls etc that i should look out for?
