HDC Reported Fault

I wonder if anyone has had this problem....every time of late and it seems sometimes to be linked to when its really cold that on start up a fault flashes up saying "HDC fault" im sure there is a bit more text to it but thats the basis of it. Then it dissappears immediatly and all looks normal and there is no fault logged in the computer and the HDC works fine.

Any ideas why this might happen?

I'm getting the same message flash up occasionally on mine, but after using the HDC yesterday I know there's no fault in it, so I'm a bit puzzled as to why it's coming up. Having only had the car 2 weeks I'm just adding it to the list of 'issues' to be looked at by Stratstones when I give it back to them for a day to sort everything out, be great if I could give them a definitive "you need to do this....." if it's a known problem area.

I have recently started to get the same thing, most of the time when I start it up after it's been parked up for a while. It will flash up for a couple of seconds that I have a HDC fault, but then it disappers straight away. Looks like it mught be one of them RRS 'chracteristics' again......

I am sure this is related to a low battery voltage on startup. Has anyone tried charging their battery or replacing it?
This is a common post on on Disco3 site and if a battery is low or weak can throw up all sorts of faults on start up.

I had a new battery fitted a few months ago, so this shouldn't have any bearing on things now.

I have had this over on Freel2 and on the FL2 it's related to a sensor on the haldex unit and it only appears in very cold weather, but on Disco3 it was related to battery issues

Also don't forget that low temperatures can kill a battery overnight so if you have had very low temperatures (mind you we have had down to -12c here some nights recently but my RRS has had no problems starting, unlike my 90 which is garaged and the battery can only just start the car after a really cold night, but after a run and the car's inside has warmed up then it starts no problems at all) then that will reduce the efficiency of your battery and could cause these warnings to show up 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Looks like a new battery then. Mine popped the message up today after a particularly cold night and 'someone' leaving the interior reading lights switched on overnight Rolling Eyes Will have to see if I can get the dealer to swap it under their warranty (doubtful, but worth a try). Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE.
