About to take ownership of an 07 RRS TDV6 2.7 HSE. It will have 4 months full warranty left and I want to make sure it is tip top before the warranty expires.

I have a LR print-out stating that the only claimed field service action (presume recall) was P017X (Fuel too lean?)

Having had a FL2 I know there are loads of LR/RR software updates etc., which I can get the "local stealer" to do, but has there been many recalls on the RRS?

Any guidance on key updates/recalls/warranty fixes I can give the "stealer" would be appreciated.

Had my 07MY for three years and was very pleased. Few issues to report and never let me down. However probably the biggest issue is the front knocking which is covered in length in many threads, here is one of them http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic7227.html

Will be worth getting this checked and if nothing else have the front bushes replaced so your starting with a clean sheet.

There was a recall this year on the brake system http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic14969-45.html covers the topic and was for 07MY vehicles. Worth checking the VIN number to see if yours is one of them.

I would push for an extended warranty so you have peace of mind for at least 12 months. If your buying from a main dealer I would have thought they would have included it as standard.

I am getting it through a national dealer but the Jag franchise. They are transfering it from their LR dealer in Yorks. I asked about the LR approved warranty but they cant do it as they are Jag. Jag asked their LR people and they have said that the Stratstone general warranty is more comprehensive than the LR one (got it in writing).

Steuart- we've just bought a TDV8 from our local Audi dealer who is part of Guy Salmon LR. While the car has in and out of the dealers to sort out a number of cosmetic 'niggles' (lol!) we got 12 months used Audi warranty which is excellent. I would be happy with a Stratstone equivalent too.

I bought an FL2 there previoulsy and was promised a lot saleswise, LR Experience for one, but nothing transpired. After sales started ropey but the new client relations/after sales manager was excellent. I haven't used T&C or Stratstones Scottish dealerships, howver I would never ever recommend Shields in Glasgow to anybody after the awful sales attitude I got back in 1998 from them. Since then I have used Morrison's Land Rover in Stirling or CHPR (sorry LLRPR) and I have always been made very welcome in Taggarts Maryhill Land Rover (also part of Lookers) whenever I have been into their showroom. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

They've been bang on with everything till the start of December! Brake recall letter and a month to get it looked at! Thought something like that would have got a priority?!?

Dose of electrical faults on the forecourt and they told me to drive up the hill and call LRA who couldn't do anything for me except send the RAC but by then they'd cleared again! Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.
