Space saver spare wheel is standard on cars sold in Benelux. A full-size spare with the same type alloy as the other wheels is a cost option, about EUR 150. |

Costs less to produce, yes, but it's also less weight to carry around, and if it's standard equipment then it reduces the weight of the car for calculating CO2 emission figures. I think that's the reason? |

My 2010 Sport SE was delivered with a space saver spare wheel and following a number of weeks discussion with the supplying dealer it has been confirmed that the car should have been supplied with a full size spare (19 inch 15 spoke alloy). This was confirmed by getting a copy of the factory build sheet.

Just shows that the dealers don't seem to have a clue or maybe they just make it up Long suffering RRS Owner, but I can't help it! |

Success, dealer phoned yesterday and advised they have a full size 19 inch alloy wheel to replace the space saver spare delivered with the car. Although they did admit they have taken it from their new demonstrator as this was the only way they could get their hands on a replacement alloy Long suffering RRS Owner, but I can't help it! |
