RRS doesn't lock itself normally unless moving (10mph) ish or unlocked and door not opened for something like 60 secs or so - RRS doesnt lock itself when running and stationary |

Do any of your neighbours have those LED outside decorations? I have found that my car mysteriously UNlocks itself when my neighbours switch on their outside Santa and his sleigh and all the LED snow dripping from their gutters!! I found that it has been the same with all my previous Land Rovers as well. Took a long time to figure out why it was happening, now the neighbours phone me and tell me when they are switching on their garden decorations. They only found out when they were running a Freelander and it did the same thing. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

We only picked the car up the day before I came back to the rig so haven't had a chance to play about with it myself but from what she told me it locked itself in the drive, engine running and the spare fob is no use due to there being a key already in the ignition.

If you unlock it and open a door (and even then close that door) it will not 'auto' lock, wrt unlocking when locked and running how did you get back in - through the lock on the passenger door? ('mechanical' lock)? |

My car has done the same previously. Left engine running, shut door, went inside and when returned doors were all locked. Remote on spare key was useless so gad to use the manual unlock. |

Yes she managed to open it with the key lock. Seems a bit daft that the car will lock itself with the engine running. If it can tell the key is in the ignition so as not to let the spare fob unlock the car then it should know not to lock the car I would have thought. Elise S1 - Race Spec

Neither of my RRS's have done this, but I have read of several cars that have so now make sure a window is left open. It is a form of security for your car I suppose - nobody can drive it away if you leave it running on the drive............... my car applies the EPB by itself which nobody else seems to have happening!
