Auto lock removal

Is it possibel to remove the RRS auto door lock feature?. My wife started the car to clear the screens warm it up, nipped back into the house for a minute came out and the car had locked itself, still running. Had to reaad the handbook to get back in as the spare fob wouldn't unlock the car. Elise S1 - Race Spec

RRS doesn't lock itself normally unless moving (10mph) ish or unlocked and door not opened for something like 60 secs or so - RRS doesnt lock itself when running and stationary

Do any of your neighbours have those LED outside decorations? I have found that my car mysteriously UNlocks itself when my neighbours switch on their outside Santa and his sleigh and all the LED snow dripping from their gutters!! I found that it has been the same with all my previous Land Rovers as well. Took a long time to figure out why it was happening, now the neighbours phone me and tell me when they are switching on their garden decorations. They only found out when they were running a Freelander and it did the same thing. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

We only picked the car up the day before I came back to the rig so haven't had a chance to play about with it myself but from what she told me it locked itself in the drive, engine running and the spare fob is no use due to there being a key already in the ignition.
The above 10mph lock is enabled but I did notice if you unlock the car and leave it for about a minute it will re-lock itself.
Was wondering if this is a dealer configurable option or if you can change it yourself as I don't want it doing this running or not. If I unlock it then I want it to stay unlocked. If it isn't suposed to do that then maybe it's a fault, will get her to phone and ask if they do or not.
My 911 did the same thing but that could be programed with the key fob on or off.

Tim, not sure about the decorations but nobody has LED lights or such that I have noticed but will get my misses to have a look about and see. Might even be indoor ones that are causing it.

Thinking about it someone has lights on there outside tree but not sure if they are LED's or not will have to check. Elise S1 - Race Spec

If you unlock it and open a door (and even then close that door) it will not 'auto' lock, wrt unlocking when locked and running how did you get back in - through the lock on the passenger door? ('mechanical' lock)?

My car has done the same previously. Left engine running, shut door, went inside and when returned doors were all locked. Remote on spare key was useless so gad to use the manual unlock.

Yes she managed to open it with the key lock. Seems a bit daft that the car will lock itself with the engine running. If it can tell the key is in the ignition so as not to let the spare fob unlock the car then it should know not to lock the car I would have thought. Elise S1 - Race Spec

It shouldn't do that. Mine certainly doesn't on this one or the previous one..

Perhaps try not closing the door completely. TDV6 - gone

Neither of my RRS's have done this, but I have read of several cars that have so now make sure a window is left open. It is a form of security for your car I suppose - nobody can drive it away if you leave it running on the drive............... my car applies the EPB by itself which nobody else seems to have happening!
I wonder if the speed at which the autolock comes on has been changed to 0mph at some time? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
