High mileage quandary.....

I have owned my RRS TDV6 HSE for two years now. I bought it second hand with 16K miles on the clock. It's now showing 55K, as I use it as my 'company' car, travelling up and down motorways most weeks.

My quandary is as follows: I have a real hang up about increasing the mileage, so I'm considering selling my pride and joy, clearing the finance and going back to a company car, probably the new 5 series BMW next year. Whilst my baby has been on a mates forecourt, waiting to be sold, I've been borrowing my sisters 306 xsi. It's not too great in the snow and is as comfortable as sitting on a razor blade. In fact it's crap!

I suppose my question is, will my RRS keep going and going? Should I keep it and just drive it and enjoy it?
Are there any members here who have racked up significant miles and if so what are their thoughts or problems they've encountered? I am aware of the magic 105K service, with cam belt (£850).

Decisions. decisions...... MY12 RRSport 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography

No. Its been fine. "Touch wood'. But I don't feel 55K miles a lot of miles. I'm about to be promoted, so could be going from 20K pa to over 30K! MY12 RRSport 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography

I suppose if it is also a "company car" for tax purposes then something with lower CO2/ emissions would be more tax efficient for you. Freelander2? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Doc, An increase in mileage, from 20 to 30K, not salary!!! Laughing

Tim,
The RRS is actually mine, I just use it for business, hence it's my 'company' car, so I don't actually get stung for any government tax, just Road Licence, servicing and tyres. I am able to claim back 25p per mile from the company I work for. MY12 RRSport 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography

Sorry Embarassed

I thought "f11ck me the guys mortgaged his car" Rolling with laughter

I'd get rid - most warrantys wont cover over 100k - unless you keep your miles "trim" then put them back up when you sell it. Thumbs Up

Correct me If I am wrong, a car is meant to be driven, no?

I'm finding it difficult to imagine a better car than the one you already have to do the daily hack in comfort, in saying that, a 306 definitely isn't on top of the list. 'Not one singe person on this earth can change their past, but, every single person on this earth can start today and change their future.'

Thanks guys.

What sort of mileage are you guys on at the moment? Other than the 105K 'big' service, any other major costs I need to consider? MY12 RRSport 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography
