Help Tyre Size
Can anyone help - Im swapping my 22" wheels for a set of 20" ones with a member ont he forum. My car is a Range Rover Vogue - so apologies for asking on a RRS forum - but you guys are always so helpful and theres no equivalent helpful and active forum for non RRS models!!
The standard tyre size for a RR Vogue is 255/50 r20 and the replacement wheels have 275/40/20 on them....my question is...what difference will this make as I just dont understand the whole tyre size thing.....I;m looking for the smothest ride possible...
Grateful for your help on this before I go ahead and do the deal.....
thanks
Alex

The new ones are way too small! You sure they're off a range rover? You need 265/50/20, 275/45/20, 285/50/20 or 295/45/20. A bit bigger than stock is better than too small, especially if you want a smooth ride.

If your spare is a standard size then it will not be compatible with the 275/40 size as the rolling circumference is 4.6 percent difference think max is around 2.5 percent.
the 275/40 are a much lower profile and will give a harsher ride and will put your speedo out, though actual speed will be slower than indicated.
The 255/50 size is also the standard size fitted to the RRS
