Rear Number Plate ...

This is bound to have been discussed before but after 10 minutes of looking I can't find it !!

Question is rear number plate related - Standard or larger shaped plate ???

I do like the look of the shaped plate with the domed text but can't help thinking it looks a bit Rover 75 ... any one with an opinion or a link to a previous thread on this subject?

Thanks in advance

I've just changed mine to a standard one and think it looks far better.

I'm with Gazzer, I have the bigger plate also. With the Euro Flag on a private plate. Some say this size doen't work with private plates.

I've had all combo's of plate size on the RRS and I think this one looks best.

It doesn't offer any extra protection from rampaging lampposts though. Wink

Heh .. thanks for that ... completely understand its down to personal preferance just thought I try and get a general consensus.

Been away on hols for a while now so actually only took my car in for repair on Tuesday and it will be in for a week or so. The insurance company wouldn't let me get a replacement car from the LR dealer so they sent me one from enterprise and its a Corsa (or Pubic as I call them - Corse Hair).

Bit of a difference from the RRS.

I think all the plates in the UK are ridiculously large. If I had a choice, I would go the normal square one. I think that the "shaped" ones are, as Stella said, a bit Aunty Rover 75.

Here, our plates are smaller and you can apply online and have just about any style, colour or combination you like.

Even then you can specify slimline or standard size. The fewer the letters (max is 6) the smaller the plate. I have just 4 letters on mine (BKHK) which in slimline with white letters on a black plate makes it very small. I wish there had been some 3 letter combinations available but they have mostly been issued.

Our standard issue sequential plates are blue letters on a white background but you can even have a standard issue sequential plate in an alternative colour scheme. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
